Public Policy & Government Engagement Intern Location Remote. Preferably Delhi Duration 3–6 Months About Karya: Karya’s mission is to leverage the AI revolution to create dignified earning and learning opportunities for low-income communities across the world. In India, our smartphone-based digital work platform has enabled over 120,000 people to build language datasets and evaluate AI models while earning fair wages. With pilots in Kenya and Ethiopia and partnerships with leading AI labs, we are advancing language technologies for underrepresented communities. By combining dignified digital work with frontier AI innovation, Karya hopes to build a new AI economy that is equitable, inclusive, and community-driven. About the Role We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join the Public Policy & Government Engagement team. The role sits at the intersection of AI, public policy, governance, and public-sector innovation. The intern will work closely on research, analysis, and writing related to AI governance, AI adoption, digital public infrastructure, government technology initiatives, and opportunities for deploying AI in public service delivery. Key Responsibilities Conduct research on AI governance, AI regulation, responsible AI, and emerging technology policy developments in India and globally. Track policy developments across central ministries, state governments, regulatory bodies, and international organizations. Identify opportunities for AI integration across government programmes and public service delivery sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, livelihoods, social welfare, and climate resilience. Analyze government schemes, missions, and policy priorities to identify potential AI use cases and implementation pathways. Prepare policy briefs, research notes, presentations, stakeholder profiles, and strategic memos. Support the development of concept notes, proposals, and thought leadership pieces on AI and public policy. Monitor developments
