What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, 5 years of hands-on experience in a public affairs, public relations, or journalism, role, Demonstrated experience drafting press materials (releases, media advisories) and responding to routine inquiries, Proven ability to write and produce content for a variety of platforms, such as websites, social media, and internal communications, Experience coordinating or supporting the logistics for public events, meetings, or conferences, Ability to build effective working relationships with internal colleagues and community partners, Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while also functioning as a collaborative and reliable team member, Proficiency in managing professional social media accounts and using them to engage audiences and disseminate information, writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible language, Experience managing smaller projects from start to finish, including coordinating with multiple stakeholders to meet deadlines, Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and respond effectively to shifting priorities and time-sensitive requests, current/active TS/SCI clearance or higher

Completion of formal DoW public affairs training (Defense Information School coursework)

What You'll Do.

Produce internal and external news and information products

Develop AP Style content

Produce photojournalist products

Conduct trend research

Build content calendars

Report analytics for social media

Prepare staff for media engagements

Lead communications planning

Ensure accuracy of public-facing content

Manage public inquiries

Develop event and audience-specific materials

and execute high-level events

Provide on-site support and escort duties

Deliver formal/informal briefings

Track and manage external speaking engagements

Respond to invitations

Support high-level domestic/foreign visits

and planning materials

Support the Geospatial Intelligence Hall of Fame program

Publicize nominations

Serve as Selection Board Secretary

Oversee the annual awards event

Provide copy editing and quality assurance

Support monthly communicators meetings

Maintain media/public affairs logs
