2 years experience practicing as Nurse Practitioner, Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP), Experience in Addiction and Mental Health, Experience working with adults, Experience working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13yrs+), Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, Knowledge of substance abuse dual-diagnoses, Treatment planning, Conduct comprehensive assessments, Experience with EHRs, Adaptable to technology including telehealth, Awareness of HIPAA, Awareness of 42 CFR Part 2, Eligibility to work in the United States
Nice to Have
Spanish-speaking, Proficiency in other languages, Previous telehealth experience, Previous experience within Community Mental Health sector, Active DEA registration (Florida or New York license holders)
What You'll Do.
Provide care to adolescent and adult patients

Distinguish between physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders
Conduct individual psychotherapy
Order appropriate diagnostic testing
Prescribe psychotropic medications
Educate patients on medication risks
Monitor patients’ medication usage
Evaluate patients’ behavior and response to treatment
Work effectively with difficult patients
Deescalate verbally when necessary
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
Develop treatment plans

Educate patients and family members about mental health

Overview Our Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a critical role in assessing patients' mental and physical health based on symptoms and complaints. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans, which may include conducting individual psychotherapy, diagnosing psychiatric disorders, and prescribing medications. NPs also order diagnostic tests, monitor patients’ medication use and side effects, and educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options. They must maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) while adhering to HIPAA, state regulations, and national standards of care. Salary The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000.
