What They're Looking For.
Must Have
At least 5 years experience working with legal/property transactions, High school diploma required, Familiarity with Exception documents, Covenants & Restrictions, Leases, Mortgages and Deeds of Trust, Familiarity with Environmental Assessments, Commercial Surveys and Zoning reports
Nice to Have
College degree in paralegal studies, Prior experience working in title insurance examination, Prior experience in real estate transaction closings, Business administration preferred, Experience in banking and commercial lending processes and procedures, Similar prior exposure to the closing and real estate finance process, Experience working in a real estate department or for a real estate acquisition and management department of a commercial entity, Experience as a paralegal or attorney in a law firm reading, reviewing and analyzing legal documents pertaining to real property, Notary Public preferred

We’re hiring a Property Transaction & Closing Specialist to work remotely out of our Corporate Headquarters in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. The Property Transaction & Closing Specialist advises on real estate site selection, transaction structure, and due diligence (zoning, title, survey, environmental) for new branch openings. This role reviews Title Insurance Documents, leads commercial closings (purchases, sales, leases, sale-leasebacks, acquisitions), and summarizes diligence documents (Environmental Assessments, Surveys, Zoning reports), identifying investigation needs. The specialist interfaces with internal teams, outside counsel, and closing agents, and is responsible for managing and improving real estate and legal department procedures. Primary Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities: Provides advice and counsel related to real estate site selection, transaction structure, due diligence (including zoning, title, survey, and environmental review), and real estate documents related to new branch opening activities. Review all aspects of Title Insurance Documents and deal directly with the Title Insurance Company in closing real estate transactions. Applicants will need to have familiarity with Exception documents, Covenants & Restrictions, Leases, Mortgages and Deeds of Trust as well as other items frequently found on a Title Commitment.
