Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a directly related technical, 12+ years of experience in project management, construction management, specifically, in developing project requirements and preparing cost participating in contract bidding and award processes, managing projects in execution phase, and managing project closeout, 5+ years of work experience in heavy civil, northern mining or remediation projects, Ability to work independently and coordinate members of a team

Nice to Have

5+ years of experience working in Northern Canada is an asset, Professional designation (or the ability to obtain one) as a professional geologist, engineer, CET, PMP designation is preferable

What You'll Do.

Project and construction management

Deliver work packages from the design phase through to project closeout and hand over

Participate in design reviews and provide constructability inputs

progressing the work package from completion of design phase through to close out and hand over

Development of internal budgetary estimates and schedule

Development of scopes of work and tender packages

Participate in bid evaluations and contract awarding

Contractor onboarding

document submittals and approvals to facilitate mobilization and construction execution

Execution of construction activities and contractor performance

daily weekly reporting and planning

safety and environment

Issues and risk resolution

Managing requests for information processes and flow

Managing compliance to the change order process and procedures

tracking and reporting out on project deliverables

Assists the Construction Manager with resolving issues when variance in cost

schedule or quality arise by working with the sub-contractors to develop and implement corrective actions

Assists the Mine Manager

and Environmental Manager in ensuring HS&E awareness and compliance by all sub-contractors

Preparation of monthly reports on work package progress with schedule and budget compliance assessment for delivery to the Construction Manager and Senior Project Manager

Participate on status briefings with the client

This is a world class remediation project using innovative methods, to deliver a safe environment. The project is expected to last over 10 years and is located just outside the City of Yellowknife, NWT. We are looking for highly motivated and qualified project managers who have experience managing civil construction projects. The successful candidates will be responsible for project and construction management to deliver work packages from the design phase through to project closeout and hand over. _This role is for both current and ongoing needs so responses may be delayed as roles become available._ _Local candidates and candidates willing to relocate to Yellowknife are preferred but open to considering candidates who can travel to the Yellowknife area for the project on a case-by-case basis.
