Full Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Project Engineer to support commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment. Projects include healthcare, hospital, university, and institutional construction work. This is not a purely administrative role. The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, foremen, field teams, vendors, and leadership throughout the full project lifecycle — from preconstruction through closeout. This position supports project coordination, documentation, scheduling, procurement, field communication, and day-to-day execution across active job sites. For the right candidate, this role offers a strong long-term growth path into a Project Manager position. **Responsibilities** * Support Project Managers throughout all phases of commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout * Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement tracking, project documentation, and closeout materials * Coordinate with electricians, foremen, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to keep plans, schedules, and field execution aligned * Communicate with general contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders on day-to-day project matters * Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents * Assist estimating and preconstruction teams with takeoffs, scope reviews, and project setup activities * Collaborate with BIM/VDC teams to identify design conflicts and support field-ready coordination * Track project schedules, procurement timelines, material deliveries, and field progress * Maintain accurate project records and reporting within construction management and ERP systems * Participate in jobsite visits to support field coordination and active project execution **Requirements** * 2–5+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or similar role * Experience wor
