Full Job Description
WHO WE ARE: The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking a Program Specialist III-V in the Budget and Fiscal Policy Department which is located at 101 E. 15th Street, Austin, TX. TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those currently on student or postgraduate visas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas. WHO YOU ARE: The ideal candidate will share our department's vision of helping the agency management achieve the efficient use of financial resources and promote highly effective financial management controls. WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Program Specialist III-V performs complex to highly complex (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing major agency program(s) and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, or the general public. Works under general to limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO: - Develop and maintain written policy guidance letters and grant compliance manuals and guides; contribute to the development of contracts, grant awards, and competitive grant solicitations; analyze legislation; and participate in specialized research projects. - Coordinate and assist at the TWC Financial Conference and other agency trainings and events on fiscal technical and procurement topics. - Provide intermediate level consultative services and financial grant compliance guidance and determinations to entities that receive grant awards administered by TWC and to TWC employees. - Use accounting principles, laws, regulations, rules, published guidance, the terms and conditions of grant awards and contracts, and other resources to develop solutions for questions and problems involving administrative r
