Must Have
Masters level education in a discipline-relevant field is required, Certified by the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion (CSCP) or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP), Certification by and/or membership in relevant professional association(s)
Nice to Have
Perfusionist with a minimum of three years’ of demonstrated clinical experience is preferred, Previous teaching experience is considered an asset, Demonstrated clinical experience and currency
What You'll Do.
teach in the CVP Program
play a leadership role in all aspects of program design
evaluation and continuous quality improvement
and maintain laboratory learning spaces
and materials in alignment with learning objectives
professional standards
and academic policies
Provide on‑site instructional support to students
answering questions and reinforcing program requirements
Deliver full‑day laboratory instruction for perfusion students
including hands‑on training in the operation of heart–lung machines
and relevant pharmaceutical systems
Facilitate case‑based simulation exercises that replicate clinical scenarios related to open‑heart surgery and transplant procedures
Dismantle and reset lab environments following sessions and prepare labs for upcoming daily
and evaluative learning activities
Document and track student feedback
and competency contribute to follow‑up learning plans as required
Develop and coordinate student lab schedules and learning activities in collaboration with program staff and external faculty
and quality‑check laboratory supplies and equipment to ensure safety
Respond to student inquiries and support program operations through effective communication and coordination with program staff and external faculty

Position: Professor, Cardiovascular Perfusion Status: Contract Full-Time Site: The Michener Institute Salary: $58.1147 – $69.3915 per hour Hours: Full-Time Hours Delivery: Onsite at the Michener Simulation Lab, with some online teaching Language of work: English The Michener Institute of Education at UHN is Canada’s only post-secondary institution devoted exclusively to the applied health sciences professions. We are actively seeking to hire Professors for one of our flagship programs, Cardiovascular Perfusion. The CVP program is the largest and only Masters level program in Canada, training cardiovascular perfusionists to work in health care settings across Ontario. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach in the CVP Program.
