About the position Location: Brantford, Ontario Salary : $80,000 - $85,000 This position will be based in Brantford, Canada. The position will be part of a team of Supervisors responsible for the site. Overall responsibility for current and future manufacturing performance (Safety, Quality, and efficiency of either Spreads, Process, Packaging and Warehouse operation) using the WCM operating framework. Direct responsibility for all Hourly Production Employees, and all hourly employees on off shifts. Additionally, the Supervisor will work on continuous improvement projects both individually and on teams. Core Responsibilities: Operational Activities Managing manufacturing activities during the designated shift by leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, quality, efficiency and cost. Accountable for general supervisory coverage for all shifts. Includes schedule coordination, labour / crewing, safety, quality, site security, and behavioral management. Requirements for Temporary employees need to be initiated by the supervisor – to department manager and HR manager. Manage employee timecards, and signoff weekly to monitor employees on vacation / absenteeism Protection of employees’ health and safety by meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction about safety procedures and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and plant safety rules. Develop plans and activities to meet plant and PDP targets, which include but are not limited to 3+1 targets, functional responsibilities and other projects that are established for cost reduction, yield improvements and efficiency gains. Accountable for the productivity of the site during off shifts. Includes provision of some technical expertise, contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage, monitoring general performance and behavior of employees, and adjusting crewing or call in replacements as necessary.
