**Production Manager** **Life Unlimited.** At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. The role oversees daily manufacturing operations, leads Tier meetings, manages production staff and resources, ensures equipment maintenance, enforces safety and compliance, and drives performance through coaching, 5S practices, and continuous improvement. **What will you be doing?** * This role leads and supervises daily production operations, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products in line with manufacturing processes. It involves setting goals, monitoring performance, coaching employees, and maintaining strong communication between management and the production team to ensure policies, expectations, and standards are clearly understood and followed. * The role also ensures smooth production flow by managing manpower and resources, monitoring attendance and discipline, coordinating raw materials, and maintaining accurate production records and KPIs. It includes ensuring proper data entry and timely transactions in systems such as SAP and MES, as well as compiling and analyzing production performance data to support operational decisions. * In addition, the role drives continuous improvement and workplace safety through 5S practices, equipment maintenance, and adherence to HSE, sustainability, and energy policies. It focuses on maintaining a safe and clean work environment, preventing incidents and environmental impact, ensuring proper training and qualifications of employees, and reporting HSE incidents while supporting improvement initiatives. **What will you need to be successful?** * This role is based in Penang, Malaysia and requires a candidate with a Master’s, Degree, or Diploma in Mechanical or Material Engineering (or equivalent). The ideal candidate will bring strong supervisory and coaching capabilities, along with solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles to drive operational excellence and team performance.
