This role is responsible for managing the business of the assigned manufacturing area with regards to people, safety, quality, delivery and cost. ** _WHAT YOU’LL DO_** * Promote physical, emotional, and professional safety of all team members. Provide resources and remove barriers allowing teams to be effective. * Lead and manage a team of direct reports including recordkeeping, time-tracking, training/development and managing performance. * Communicate the company’s policies and objectives and interface between the employees and the company. * Emphasize, demonstrate and coach commitment to continuous improvement through lean manufacturing practices utilizing 5S, 8 Forms of Waste, etc. * Demonstrate technical knowledge of current and new equipment and/or processes in order to support their development and optimization. * Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams regarding the concentration and execution of corrective actions by identifying the root cause (5 Why’s, 8D’s). * Ownership and communication of departmental key performance indicators (KPIs). * Create a positive working environment, which eliminates fear and intimidation and fosters team growth and professionalism. * Interface with other departments on the production groups’ behalf to ensure that company quality standards and customer requirements are met. * Plan production to meet customer demands while maintaining a high level of product quality required by the customer. * Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing readiness of new products and
