Full Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE Join a Series A fintech startup on a mission to help everyday consumers better manage their financial future. As a Product Engineer, you'll build features end-to-end that optimize taxes, bridge paychecks, and build credit — directly improving the financial wellbeing of a growing base of paying users. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business leaders to ship high-impact work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build product features end-to-end, including domain models, business logic, and API integrations. - Drive deployment and iteration through data-driven, incremental releases toward bold product milestones. - Leverage robust data pipelines and analytics infrastructure — using SQL and other tools — to evaluate product and system performance. - Debug complex state machines in an event-driven backend using pub/sub to ensure a seamless consumer experience. - Ship to production daily via a rapid CI/CD process, owning implementations end-to-end and responding to production incidents as needed. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Required: Hands-on experience with Go (Golang) deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Required: Direct consumer product experience — you've built products for end consumers, not exclusively B2B. - Proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs, including authentication/authorization patterns and rate limiting. - Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), including data modeling and query optimization. - Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing, and code review processes. - Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) for scalable data pipelines. - Strong CS fundamentals. - Excellent cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. - Startup experience preferred; open to candidates from larger tech companies with the right m
