Full Job Description

## Description This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Design Lead based in India. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of product design, systems thinking, and complex infrastructure. You will lead a small, high-calibre design team responsible for shaping the core merchant experience within a sophisticated payments platform used by global businesses. The product surface is deeply technical and highly consequential, requiring clarity in environments where flows are conditional, stateful, and operationally critical. You will operate as a hands-on design leader, balancing strategic ownership with deep individual contribution. Working closely with Product and Engineering, you will help define what gets built, why it matters, and how it behaves in real-world use. The environment is remote-first, globally distributed, and highly autonomous, with a strong emphasis on craft, ownership, and thoughtful collaboration. ## Accountabilities You will own the design vision, execution quality, and team development for a critical product domain, ensuring both strategic alignment and hands-on contribution to the most complex problems. Define and own the end-to-end experience strategy and design quality bar for your product area Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of product designers through critique, coaching, and hands-on collaboration Contribute directly to product design work, spending a significant portion of time in the tools solving high-impact problems Partner as an equal with Product and Engineering leaders to shape roadmap direction and product decisions Lead research efforts to uncover user needs across multiple personas and translate insights into product direction Strengthen and extend the design system by identifying gaps and building reusable patterns and components Navigate complex trade-offs between ideal user experience, technical constraints, an
