Bachelor of Science Engineering degree (ME or equivalent), Desire for a technical career path and developing deep mastery in Process & Engineering (P&E) new process Front End Innovation (FEI) development work, Mechanical Systems, Servos/Drives, Experience with converting or packaging-based processes and equipment, Knowledge of commercial systems and state of the art in those industries, Knowledge of web handling and experience with associated modeling tools, Familiarity with machining and additive manufacturing for fabrication of complex mechanical parts, Understanding the relative complexity and cost of various fabrication methods to deliver required tolerances, Manufacturing and/or start-up experience in a production facility, Experience with process development tools, control charts, DOX, reliability engineering, high speed video, Knowledgeable in the value and use of mechanical laboratory analytical tools, focus on use of 5M learning tools

What You'll Do.

Lead engineering for mechanical processes and equipment development

Understand business need and determine development strategy

Interface with other disciplines and support groups

Lead option development and analysis

Optimize technical solutions

Use modeling and analysis tools

Identify high risk technical challenges

Form development strategies to mitigate risks

Focus on sequential phases of knowledge building

and evaluate multiple solutions

Own and lead design and construction of test equipment

Research and identify key Emerging Technologies

Generate estimates of development cost and schedule

Act as a technical resource in APS

Consult with Organization Units

Participate in peer reviews and brainstorming sessions

Help evaluate OEM vendors and their solutions

Work with internal business unit partners; Interface with other disciplines (controls, materials, process, manufacturing, product development) and Supply Chain Innovation (SCI) infrastructure support groups; Work effectively with diverse groups of people, both internal and external to the organization; Collaborate with suppliers and plants

Excellent written communication and presentation skills; Capable of concise report writing and thorough documentation; Comfortable giving tours and presentations to all levels of management
