Must Have
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, 3-5 years of technical work experience in the plastic injection and packaging industry
Nice to Have
Knowledge of FDA QSR's and ISO requirements, Experience with GDT, Experience with process validation, Experience with six-sigma root cause analysis, Experience with statistical software, RJG Master Molder Certification, Knowledge of mold design fundamentals, Knowledge of molding process development, Knowledge of plastic resin behavior, Knowledge of required tooling/equipment, Solid technical background and understanding of engineering and quality principles, Knowledge of primary, secondary, and higher level packaging systems and materials, Knowledge of flexible packaging materials and laminates, Knowledge of rigid packaging containers, Understanding of temperature controlled product shipping and packaging designs, Knowledge with ASTM, ISTA standards for shipping validations, Knowledge with packaging material testing
What You'll Do.
Provide technical support for molding and packaging processes
Collaborate with suppliers to maintain supply of parts
Perform capacity analysis for molds
Apply data-driven methodologies to establish robust process windows
Partner with suppliers to ensure effective process validation
Drive Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
Oversee mold and packaging equipment development
Act as project engineer for mold and packaging
and evaluate mold prototypes and packaging
Develop and maintain technical documentation
Lead new mold and packaging system testing
Lead engineering changes
Lead design validations
Create and execute packaging and labeling qualification study
Investigate and resolve quality issues related to molding
Utilize advanced CAD software to design and refine
Support reviews and updates of packaging material specifications
Support updates of associated drawings
Support updates of manufacturing procedures
Perform change impact assessments
Ensure seamless implementation of process updates
