What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor’s Degree (4 Yr) in Chemical/Polymer Engineering, or relevant discipline, Minimum 1+ years in a laboratory, production, or process development area, preferably in a multinational (industrial) company, Experience relevancy: Chemical manufacturing, Knowledge in organic chemistry, polymeric chemistry, and epoxy chemistry, Knowledge in chemical engineering and understanding of chemical production processes, Knowledge in analytical methodology and proficiency with statistical principles, Excellent computer skills (MS Office 365 Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Fluent in local site language and English, Project Management skills, innovation, analytical, and conceptual thinking, knowledge in reaction kinetics and modelling, Recognized knowledge of chemical processes at an international level, across multiple sites, Knowledge of production applications and business aspects in several segments, Customer Focus, Achieving valuable results, Building Teams and Relationships, Situational influencing, Self-development orientation, Project Management skills (planning, structured thinking, communication, stakeholder management), The job holder has a critical technical role on site and can be faced with solving complex technical situations, often including EHS and Quality dimensions, whilst under considerable time pressure, and therefore must maintain high integrity and professional standards

What You'll Do.

Independently managing Process Development mandates (short-term sub-projects or longer-term business projects/programs), Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), Supporting Manufacturing improvement initiatives, Supporting process safety incidents with consideration of PSM/EHS knowledge requirements, Working toward a zero harms objective, Ensuring day-to-day work is carried out in a safe manner and all near misses, incidents, and accidents are reported/investigated, Implementing EHS/PSM procedures (e.

, MOC, JSA, RA, etc.

), Supporting site HAZOP studies, Implementing new product introduction, including feasibility studies, defining and developing process parameters with PSM/EHS review and procedures, cost evaluation/estimation, technical package preparation, etc., Supporting the business portfolio through rapid and efficient scale-up from lab to production, Evaluating feasibility of mandates, Defining and agreeing on goals, milestones, and resource needs with requesters, Executing mandates using state-of-the-art tools and methodologies to deliver safe, practical, and economic solutions with no adverse environmental effects, Driving action plans with respect to deadlines and available resources (internal, analytics, external upon request), Innovating by developing new tools and methodologies for mandate execution, Proposing solutions to improve productivity, EHS, PSM, quality, and reliability, Acting as process owner in projects taking results into production, Working as a team member on process/product introductions, Managing knowledge/reporting with respect to quality standards, Managing the team of lab technicians (allocate resources to other process chemists, carry out PDPs), Coaching pilot operators: EHS, leadership, motivation for personal and professional development, and team building to promote collaboration between associates and partners, Applying Golden Rules, maintaining daily presence in Pilot Plant, and applying EHS standards (5S, MOC, JSA, PSM, root cause analysis), Managing budget and assets/CERs, Taking part in the S&OP process, Managing maintenance budget and assets/CERs, Managing short process descriptions and recipes in SAP, Reducing waste production and utility consumption, Managing direct reports and coaching pilot operators and lab technicians: leadership, motivation for personal and professional development, and team building to promote collaboration between associates and partners.
