Full Job Description
As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and operational support of CERN's cryogenics process control systems. You will play an active role in major consolidation projects carried out during Long Shutdown 3, supporting the cryogenic infrastructure of the LHC accelerator as well as the ATLAS and CMS detectors. This diverse role combines software development, hardware installation, and system integration activities. You will collaborate closely with a wide range of CERN services and work alongside the Cryogenics Operations team to deliver reliable and innovative solutions that support world-leading scientific research. Your responsibilities: * Contribute to the design, development, implementation and commissioning of control systems, using automated software production methods based on GitLab CI and CERN control frameworks. * Contribute to the review and propose improvements of process control logic. * Participate in the installation and commissioning of control hardware on site. * Participate to the maintenance and insertion of control system's configuration data in CERN's databases. * Cooperate with CERN's service providers to resolve issues and share best practices. Your profile: * Experience in Python and bash programming. * Proficiency in code refactoring, optimisation, and testing. * Experience with relational databases (Oracle), data manipulation and SQL. * Knowledge of code versioning systems (Git), issue tracking (Jira) and continuous integration (GitLab CI). * Basic experience with PLC-based control systems (Siemens, Schneider). * Ability to understand and analyse systems, identify issues and propose solutions. * Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Computing Engineering or Automation Engineering or a related field.
