Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department., Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures., Requires clinical versatility across diagnoses and patient populations., Must be adaptable to varying site workflows and able to integrate quickly into different teams., Includes travel expectations based on organizational needs.
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Graduate of Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), Licensure is required in every US State and Territory the Therapist is practicing., Possesses and maintains BLS certification
Nice to Have
Completion of LSVT training & certification
What You'll Do.
Evaluating patient’s need for physical therapy
Planning and executing individual treatment programs
Keeping treatment skills upgraded through continuing education
evidence-based research
and program development
Performing job responsibilities in accordance with the program’s strategic objectives and goals
Providing patient care
and services within the scope of their license
certification or registration and as required by Federal and State laws and regulations
Evaluating patient condition
Establishing treatment goals in collaboration with patient and family as appropriate
and in collaboration with the treatment team
Administering treatment for each patient according to the stated goals
Delegating responsibilities to physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians as appropriate
Re-evaluating patient's status and effects of treatment
Revising treatment plan as necessary
Reviewing revised goals with patient and family as appropriate
Evaluating patient's need for medical equipment and orders the appropriate equipment as necessary
Evaluating equipment upon delivery and instructs patient
patient's family and health care workers on its use
Participating in planning for patient discharge by considering and communicating with patient
community support/services and environmental limitations
Communicating with others to integrate physical therapy treatment with all aspects of patient care
Participating in conferences/discussions as needed and exchange of written records with other interdisciplinary team members
Instructing the patient and the family in physical therapy procedures as part of providing patient and family education including written instructions as necessary
Attending various meetings and in-services as designated
Following all hospital policy and procedures including but not limited to patient confidentiality and infection control
Meeting or exceeding program productivity expectations
Providing discipline specific coverage (following cross training) within the Mary Free Bed system as requested
Adhering to the Mary Free Bed Standards of Behavior
Supporting program operations as assigned
Providing short-term clinical coverage across multiple outpatient locations and/or teams
Supporting during staff absences
or periods of high demand
Participating in orientation and training of new staff
Serving as clinical instructor for physical therapy students
and evaluating skills of students
Communicating with participating universities regarding skill levels of students
Participating in program development and/or research activities as assigned
Meeting or exceeding clinical outcome collection standards
Meeting or exceeding clinical outcome performance/improvement goals
