Industry & Context.

Tech / AI / Software
Problems you'll solve

system-level requirements and trade-offs; assess technical feasibility; integration gaps; reliability risks; cross-device dependencies; triage when systems behave unexpectedly in the field; spotting patterns in device telemetry; accelerating the feedback loop from field observations to product decisions

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

7+ years of product management experience with deep ownership of hardware-enabled systems, including embedded systems, and hardware-software integration., Full hardware phase ownership experience: PRD through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production, with direct accountability for system-level requirements and cross-device trade-offs., technical foundation in perception and sensing technologies (cameras, radar, thermal, BLE beacons, audio) and ability to translate real-world functionality into complex cross-device system requirements., Proven ability to work fluently with hardware, firmware and software engineers on technical requirements, constraints, and system-level trade-offs—you can hold your own in a schematic review or a firmware debug session., written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, durable system requirements, technical PRDs, and trade-off analyses for both engineering and leadership audiences.

Nice to Have

Experience with safety-critical or regulated device environments (UL2560/UL 1069, FDA, FCC, or medical device standards)., Experience in healthcare, senior living, or clinical settings where reliability, privacy, and trust are paramount., Familiarity with AI/ML applied to on-device sensing data, telemetry anomaly detection, or perception pipelines.

What You'll Do.

Own the System of Systems: Define and maintain system-level requirements and architecture across all current hardware and future devices.

Serve as the authoritative voice on how devices collaborate

and fail gracefully together.

Lead discovery on new and existing hardware types: Partner with hardware

software and commercial teams to evaluate sensing technologies and device configurations

assess technical feasibility and regulatory constraints

and tie recommendations directly to business expansion opportunities (e. g.

market expansion opportunities and new verticals

and stronger unit economics).

Lead Hardware Phase Strategy: Define and continually refine what success looks like from PRD kick-off through Concept

Translate end user needs

business and clinical goals into clear system-level requirements for each phase

shape the criteria for go/no-go decisions

and ensure teams stay aligned on the product outcomes we’re driving toward at every milestone.

Shape Cross-Device Trade-offs: Identify integration gaps

and cross-device dependencies before they become field issues.

well-reasoned trade-off recommendations to engineering leadership.

Partner with Implementation: Work closely with the implementation team to translate real-world deployment constraints into product requirements—and to quickly triage when systems behave unexpectedly in the field.

Drive AI-Powered Product Development: Use AI as a daily multiplier—spotting patterns in device telemetry

generating PRDs from raw notes and logs

maintaining a living system-of-systems knowledge base

and accelerating the feedback loop from field observations to product decisions.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with hardware engineering

as well as Implementation

and Operations—acting as the integration point that keeps the whole system coherent.

How You'll Work.
