What They're Looking For.
Must Have
10+ years in network engineering / operations roles, 3+ years in a senior, lead, or principal service role, Deep experience operating enterprise-scale network services, LAN / WLAN (campus & datacenter), WAN / MPLS / Internet, SD-WAN platforms, Cloud connectivity (Azure ExpressRoute), Hands-on expertise in network troubleshooting and diagnostics, Solid understanding of network security operations, Firewalls, segmentation, VPNs, Zero Trust concepts, Experience supporting environments built on Cisco / Fortinet / Aruba, Familiarity with Network monitoring and observability tools, Familiarity with Change, incident, and problem management processes, Expert-level problem solving and incident leadership, Ability to operate calmly and decisively during major incidents, Analytical mindset with focus on root causes, not symptoms, Excellent communication skills, Documentation discipline (runbooks, SOPs, RCAs)
Nice to Have
CCNP / CCIE, ITIL (Foundation or higher), Azure Network Engineer Associate or equivalent
What You'll Do.
Act as service owner for core network platforms
Ensure services meet defined SLAs
Own and evolve support models
Drive consistency and quality across network environments
Serve as highest technical escalation point
Lead major incident response
Conduct root cause analysis
Identify systemic weaknesses
Translate incident trends into improvement initiatives
and alerting enhancements
Drive adoption of automation
Reduce incident volume and MTTR
Provide operational input into architectural designs
Validate new network services are operationally supportable
Define and enforce operational standards
Mentor senior engineers
Technically manage managed service providers
Challenge vendors on incident handling
Ensure vendor solutions align with internal requirements
Ensure complete documentation
and support readiness
Manage service lifecycle activities
