The primary objective is to prepare Principal Fellows to become effective instructional school leaders and step into an Uncommon Principal role. Success is measured by the growth of the Principal Fellow, the improvement of school performance, and the achievement of student success benchmarks.

What They're Looking For.
Must Have
A Bachelor's degree is required. Candidates must have at least 3 years of teaching experience with evidence of outstanding student growth and at least 1 year of experience coaching, leading, and/or managing teachers. A passionate commitment to the mission of Uncommon Schools, including its vision for being an anti-racist organization, is essential. The role also requires dedication to building culturally responsive learning partnerships and demonstrating tenacity, personal responsibility, and a founder's mentality.
Nice to Have
Experience teaching core subjects (e.g., Math, ELA, Science, History) is preferred. Experience with Uncommon's core tenets of instructional leadership, such as the See It-Name It-Do It framework and Leverage Leadership principles, is also preferred.

How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Principal Fellows will receive feedback from their Host Principal, the Regional Superintendent of Instruction, and the Senior Director of School Support. They will also join Principals in monthly, cross-regional professional development and attend cohort-specific workshops. The role requires building culturally responsive learning partnerships with students, teachers, and families.
