You’ll find our 700+ team currently across 12 locations and 9 time zones. **The Role ** This is a highly influential technical leadership role where you’ll drive the architecture, performance and evolution of our core data platform. As our Principal Engineer, Data & Platforms, your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: * Own the **health, performance and optimisation** of our enterprise data platform, with Snowflake at the core * Lead the **design and architecture** of scalable, secure and cost-efficient data solutions * Embed **AI-native capabilities** into data products using Cortex AI, LLM functions and intelligent workflows * Set and govern engineering standards across **data architecture, performance and AI development** * Drive adoption of **modern data practices** , including automation, observability and Shift Left data quality * Partner closely with engineering leaders and stakeholders to shape **data-driven capabilities across the business** * Lead **platform security, governance and compliance** , including access control, encryption and data lineage * Champion **FinOps practices** , ensuring cost transparency, optimisation and efficient platform usage **About you** * Proven experience as a **Principal or Lead Data Engineer** in modern cloud environments * Deep expertise in **Snowflake** , including architecture, performance optimisation and security * Hands-on experience with **AI-powered data capabilities** , such as Cortex AI or similar * Stron
