“Preventative Maintenance Technician at Waste Connections. Skills: heavy truck repairs and maintenance, automotive experience, inspecting brake systems, steering, suspension, tires, electrical systems, emissions (DPF/SCR), ECM downloading, interpreting trouble codes, Hydraulics repair. Performing routine inspections at 21 day or 450 hour intervals. Replacing engine oil, air filters, and fuel filters”

Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 75+ pounds, with frequent kneeling, bending, and working in extreme temperatures, Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road, Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools, Must provide own personal tools
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum 3 yr experience in heavy truck repairs and maintenance, If no heavy truck experience, minimum 5 years automotive experience, Proficiency in inspecting brake systems (air brakes), steering, suspension, tires, electrical systems, and emissions (DPF/SCR), Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 75+ pounds, with frequent kneeling, bending, and working in extreme temperatures, Basic understanding of ECM downloading and interpreting trouble codes, Knowledge of Hydraulics repair is required, Must provide own personal tools
Nice to Have
Welding/fabrication experience is a huge plus
What You'll Do.
Performing routine inspections at 21 day or 450 hour intervals
Performing and documenting annual DOT safety inspections
Greasing components and adjusting brakes
Repairs include but are not limited to
routine maintenance and repairing engines chassis and body components
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles
documenting parts usage
and accounting for repair times
or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Performs maintenance related work as required
safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Performs required safety protocols while working on vehicles
