Full Job Description

As a member of the care center team, apply attention to details to prepare deceased for services including preparing the casket, dressing the deceased, moving the deceased into the casket, and transporting the casket to the appropriate room. Updates computerized records. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** * With care, compassion, and attention to detail, prepare caskets and dress the deceased for various services. Working as a member of a team, perform requested responsibilities to ensure the family is pleased with the outcome. * Obtain and verify the casket and decease belongings against computerized records. Prepare and line the casket with sheets, liners, pillows, or memorabilia. Dress embalmed and beautified deceased in clothing and accessories provided by the family. Use lifting equipment to perform work as well as move the dressed deceased into the casket. Inspect and adjust liners, pillows, deceased, clothing, accessories, and memorabilia appropriately to present decease to the family and guests. Update computerized records at various stages. Transport casket to assigned room. Open and drape casket; adjust decease clothing and accessories as appropriate. * Post services may retrieve deceased accessories and provide accessories to the Funeral Director for return to the family. Updates computerized records to document return of belongings. May assist with closing the casket and transportation. * May serve as Paul Bearer, lifting and carrying the casket into a vehicle. * May drive company owned vehicles to run errands or chauffer family members to and from services. * Learning to apply knowledge and skills to the business environment. Works under guidance with work peer reviewed for accuracy, quality, and coaching. Completes routine work following established procedures and complying with regulations and policies; escalates non-routine issues for assistance. Exhibits accountability for behaviors.
