What They're Looking For.

Must Have

bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree, in mathematics, economics, engineering (electrical preferred), or similar quantitative field, Three to 10 years’ professional experience operating zonal or nodal market simulation models in industry recognized products such as PLEXOS, ProMod, EnCompass, Ability to manage and lead small teams of analysts to execute deliverables, Ability to work collaboratively within a small team to develop and rapidly iterate on technical views to incorporate feedback from internal and external parties, Ability to advance new technical solutions (e. g. , model improvements, analytics) with limited guidance, Demonstrated experience, via current or past work experience, in one or more North American power market (e. g. , ERCOT, ISO New England, NYISO), Advanced Excel skills, Analytical skills, sound judgment, creative problem solving, commercial awareness, Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization and externally with clients, both verbal and written

Nice to Have

Prior consulting experience is strongly preferred, Candidates with prior PLEXOS experience are preferred, Familiarity with congestion curtailment analysis, capacity expansion methodologies, battery optimization modeling, and/or GIS a plus, Experience using PLEXOS API/Cloud SDK and automating data workflows is a plus, Demonstrated ability to work in Python or R is preferred

Assess impacts of carbon charges

Assess risks/benefits of congestion

Lead teams in market research

Supervise teams in data acquisition

Take responsibility to usher initiatives to completion

Engage with project teams

Provide analysis and expertise

Enhance firm’s market analytics

Enhance consulting activities

Maintain energy market databases

Improve energy market databases

Develop methodologies for proprietary models

Provide power market-related services
