Full Job Description
**Overview:** 36 hours/week, night shift. **Job Description Summary:** Performs polysomnography procedures on patients with suspected injury or disease resulting in sleep disorders under supervision and according to facility policies and procedures. **Job Description:** **Essential Functions:** * Assists with the scheduling of patients, physicians, psychologist, and facilities and performs various other administrative functions. * Completes technical reports, processes patient charge information, and maintains accurate medical records and documentation. * Identifies and performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination. * Monitors patients and maintains safety during procedures. Communicates to other patient care support staff. * Performs a variety of polysomnography procedures on patients with possible injury and disease resulting in sleep disorders according to established policies and procedures. * Prepares patients for testing, communicating procedure information and answering questions, and ensures accurate electrode application. Collects information pertinent to the interpretation of the test results. * Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels and proper functioning. Prepares patient rooms for polysomnography procedures. **Education Requirement:** * High School Diploma or equivalent, required. * Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field, preferred. * Graduate of an AMA approved two year Respiratory Therapy Program, preferred. **Licensure Requirement:** (not specified) **Certifications:** * Eligible for registration within twelve months of employment as a Polysomnography Technologist, required. * Current CPR certificate, required. **Skills:** Effective computer operations and technology skills. **Experience:** One year of experience in Polysomnography, preferred. **Physical Requirements:** OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Climb stairs/ladder, Decisi
