About the role Anthropic is seeking a Policy Counsel to support our public policy and legal initiatives at the intersection of AI technology and regulation. As a member of our legal team, you'll work cross-functionally to navigate emerging policy challenges and help build and advocate for frameworks that promote responsible AI development. This is an exceptional opportunity to tackle novel legal and policy questions while contributing directly to the future of AI governance. Key responsibilities Support the development of AI governance frameworks that align with evolving regulations, industry best practices, and global standards Monitor and analyze emerging legislative and regulatory developments related to AI Provide legal analysis and advice to the External Affairs team and other Public Policy stakeholders Partner with Public Policy and technical teams in developing practical policy guidance that is informed by a deep understanding of our products Assist in drafting policy positions and proposals and advocacy materials Minimum qualifications Law degree and qualification to practice law in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction Experience with policy, regulatory, or government affairs work, whether in government, at a technology company, a law firm, or a policy organization Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex legal and technical concepts accessible to non-legal audiences Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguous policy questions Preferred qualifications 6+ years of relevant legal experience Experience working on complex technology policy issues acr
