Purpose of the role The Platform Implementation Engineer will be responsible for building and validating servers. In addition, the engineer is responsible for automating processes and providing Pico and our clients with secure and stable systems infrastructure. Platform Implementation Engineers may also be called on to investigate and resolve server problems. This is a customer-facing role, with individual responsibility for delivering quality service, supporting our client base and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in Red Hat Linux operating systems, virtual machine technologies (KVM, Hyper-V, Nutanix, VMWare ESXi), server hardware from industry leaders such as HPE or Dell EMC, bash, and Ansible. The candidate should be familiar with ITIL (or comparable) incident response, problem management and change management procedures. Must be comfortable working with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory. Responsibilities and duties (including but not limited to) Perform server builds from scratch based on client requirements using Red Hat Satellite, Ansible Perform server end-of-support OS rebuilds / upgrades, ESXi upgrades and firmware updates as required for stability and security. Use scripts, Ansible and automation to support deployment and maintenance of applications and system settings.
