Versant Media’s Data Platforms team is the central data store across the enterprise. We unify disparate systems into a secure, well-governed, real-time data environment that powers downstream products, analytics, and content delivery experiences. We are seeking a Platform Engineer to contribute to the development of backend services and core platform components that power our data platform. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable systems, improving developer workflows, and growing into broader platform ownership over time. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone early in their career who is building a strong foundation in software engineering while developing expertise in platform systems, infrastructure, and operational tooling. Responsibilities * Contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript * Support development of modular, service-oriented architecture for data ingestion, transformation, and access * Help ensure platform services integrate with: * data contracts and schema validation * metadata, lineage, and governance systems * Write clean, testable code with emphasis on unit and integration testing * Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows * Participate in design and code reviews, learning and applying engineering best practices * Debug and trouble
