This position reports to the Plant Manager, and is part of a management team that is responsible for the safe, efficient, fiscally sound and environmentally conscientious operation and maintenance of the facility, including all supporting properties and equipment. **Responsibilities** * Ownership of all plant permits, sampling and testing requirements associated with these permits, and reporting to the applicable regulators. * Interaction with local, Provincial, and Federal regulators to resolve permit issues. * Technical support and direction to contractors and in-house personnel. * Provide technical support to the station staff as needed to address technical problems. * Act as administrator for the station technical library files and effectively manage these support systems. * Learn and use key programs for evaluating plant performance. * Health and Safety support as the management representative on the JHSC. * Site security controls and reporting for site security systems. * Support for NERC compliance reporting and testing. * To act in the capacity of the Duty Manager in rotation with other management staff. **Required Qualifications:** * Bachelor of Science degree in either mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, other engineering, environmental science, or occupational safety degrees considered.
