Must Have
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) Degree, Current/valid license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license, Five (5) years of verifiable professional healthcare management experience in a correctional facility

Oversee healthcare administration
Ensure delivery of high-quality
patient-centered care
Advance public health principles
Set strategic direction
Oversee all JHS service lines
Ensure compliance with regulations
Optimize systems and workflows
Foster integration with other units
Collaborate with City and County leadership
and policy challenges
Coordinate all levels of healthcare delivery
Review and coordinate SF Sheriff’s Office healthcare policies
Assess impact of legislation
Manage and direct communicable disease program
Lead policy planning and implementation
and direct administrative support services
and administer JHS budget
Collaborate with finance unit
Represent JHS in matters related to detention and healthcare
Serve as DPH liaison with City Attorney’s Office
Participate in state and national committees
Serve on SFHN and Ambulatory Care committees
