What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent, Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience, Ability to perform all testing at satellite locations
Nice to Have
Phlebotomy Technician Certification (NHA), CLA Certificate preferred, Drug screen collection preferred
What You'll Do.
Use appropriate aseptic technique to draw blood cultures
Process Stat specimens according to Summit Health SOP
Prepare collection containers with appropriate preservatives
Give instructions for proper specimen collection
Measure and record volume for 24-hr collection
Collect a COC Urine Drug Screen
Administer and collect a H. pylori Breath test
Handle orders on minors
Complete paperwork and label specimens for OVH Blood
Process satellite specimens and deliver them
Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies
Delete/cancel orders with documentation
Ensure proper patient charge deletion
Recall patients for follow-up procedures
Document callbacks in the lab logbook
Utilize LIS for all applicable functions
Adapt work schedule to meet staffing needs
Perform skin punctures
Perform bleeding times
Enter bleeding time results in LIS
Check-in a patient in a satellite lab
Arrive patient on day-list
Process lab and office collected specimens for transport
Contact courier for Stat pickup
and enter Rapid Strep test result
and enter Hemoccult test result
Notify physician of critical result
Train new staff in lab policies and procedures
