What You'll Do.
Collecting and processing blood specimens from patients for laboratory testing.
Obtaining quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
Ensuring accurate patient identification
quality specimen labeling
and transportation of specimens.
Assisting in the recovery of patients experiencing adverse reactions and providing a rapid response to medical emergencies in the inpatient setting.
Communicating effectively with patients and patient care teams
explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Troubleshooting and resolving specimen
and common operational issues within the work area.
Providing some training and education to new staff and students.
