Must Have

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training, Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization, Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations, Knowledge of Word Processing software, Must be accessible to appropriate and reliable transportation to perform essential duties and responsibilities, Certification required by the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support to include adult, child and infant

Nice to Have

Bilingual and able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently may be required based on service location

What You'll Do.

Collects clinical laboratory specimens

performs tasks associated with patient registration

order entry and specimen processing

Performs waived testing

Provides logistical support to team members

general assistance to customers

Performs venipunctures

Collects other specimens and explains the proper collection procedures for specimens provided by the patient

Clarifies orders and pre-analytical test requirements when appropriate

Performs requisitions lab orders and verifies billing information

and transport specimens according to the laboratory requirements

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes in specimen requirements and collection devices

Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and ensures a meticulous work area

Assists in the orientation

and mentoring new staff members

Participates in the Continuous Service Improvement and continuing education programs

Properly records and documents necessary expense reimbursement (Mileage Reimbursement) following established electronic processes
