Full Job Description

**Work Schedule:** Full-time position with hours ranging from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekend and holiday rotation. Collects clinical laboratory specimens and performs tasks associated with patient registration, order entry and specimen processing with general supervision. Performs waived testing with general supervision. Provides logistical support to team members and general assistance to customers. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Performs venipunctures. Collects other specimens and explains the proper collection procedures for specimens provided by the patient. Clarifies orders and pre-analytical test requirements when appropriate. * Performs registration; requisitions lab orders and verifies billing information. * Process, store, and transport specimens according to the laboratory requirements. * Actively promotes HNL Lab Medicine’s values and exhibits excellent customer relations in anticipating customer needs in all interactions. * Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes in specimen requirements and collection devices. * Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and ensures a meticulous work area. * Assists in the orientation, training, and mentoring new staff members. * Participates in the Continuous Service Improvement and continuing education programs. * Properly records and documents necessary expense reimbursement (Mileage Reimbursement) following established electronic processes. * Provides on-call and mobile service as required. * Required to travel to sites within 25 miles other than base location as needed for coverage. * **Per Diem:** Per diem work is determined by the departments need and the employee’s availability.
