Attending an accredited school of Pharmacy, Current and unrestricted pharmacy intern licensure, AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire (Arizona), Good organizational skills, Problem solving skills, Computer skills, Good written communication skills, Good verbal communication skills, Knowledge of computer software, Knowledge of medication management information system software, Knowledge of Microsoft applications, Knowledge of Automated dispensing systems, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at time of hire (Banner Behavioral Health Hospital), Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire

Nice to Have

Pharmacy technician experience, Additional training in specialty areas, Additional related education, Additional related experience

What You'll Do.

Prepare medications under supervision

Place medications for pharmacist review

Deliver medications to nursing units

Investigate missing medication requests

Charge/credit patients for medications

Restock returned medications

Restock medications using automated dispensing technology

Restock medications outside automated dispensing technology

Add users to automated dispensing technology database

Investigate discrepancies in automated dispensing technology

Troubleshoot automated technology malfunctions

Identify medications for reorder

Receive and check-in medications

Compound specialty drug products

Repackage bulk medications

Complete documentation of compounding/repackaging

Prepare and label intravenous medication orders

Prepare total parenteral nutrition products

Prepare chemotherapy products

Utilize education and pharmacy skills

Assess and formulate recommendations to physicians

Provide information regarding medication therapy

Perform quality control activities

Complete documentation on refrigerator temperatures

Complete documentation on intravenous hood cleaning

Complete documentation on equipment maintenance

Participate in medication use aspects

Provide excellent service experience

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Work with the Pharmacist in processing physician orders; Provide information to physicians, nurses, and others; Liaison between customer and pharmacist; Work with Licensed Independent Practitioners; Work with Nursing Directors; Work with Department Directors; Work with Administrators; Work with other health care team members; Collaborate with local, state, and national pharmacy organizations; Collaborate with colleagues and peers; Collaborate with educational institutions; Collaborate with pharmaceutical representatives
