Work under the supervision of the pharmacist, Work with the Pharmacist in processing physician orders, Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assesses and formulates potential recommendations, Under pharmacist supervision, provides information, Under the supervision of a pharmacist, utilizes education and pharmacy skills, Work shift varies (6am-2:30pm) (1pm-9:30pm), Saturday and Sunday (every other weekend), Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment (Banner Behavioral Health Hospital), Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Attending an accredited school of Pharmacy, Current and unrestricted pharmacy intern licensure in the state of practice, AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire (Arizona), Good organizational skills, Good problem solving skills, Good computer skills, Good written communication skills, Good verbal communication skills, Knowledge of computer software, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire (Banner Behavioral Health Hospital), Arizona Criminal History Affidavit
Nice to Have
Pharmacy technician experience, Additional training in specialty areas (such as automatic dispensing technology, controlled substances and satellite pharmacy), Additional related education and/or experience
What You'll Do.
Prepare medications under supervision
Deliver medications to nursing units
Investigate missing medication requests
Charge/credit patients for medications
Restock returned medications
Restock medications to nursing and ancillary areas
Add users to automated dispensing technology database
Investigate discrepancies in automated dispensing technology
Troubleshoot automated technology malfunctions
Identify medications for reorder
Receive and check-in medications
Compound specialty drug products
Repackage bulk medications
Document compounded and repackaged items
Prepare and label intravenous medication orders
Utilize education and pharmacy skills
Provide information regarding medication therapy
Perform quality control activities
Complete documentation on refrigerator temperatures
Complete documentation on intravenous hood cleaning
Complete documentation on equipment maintenance
Participate in medication use
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Work with the Pharmacist in processing physician orders; Provides information to physicians, nurses, and others; Internal customers may include Patients, Nurses, Licensed Independent Practitioners, Nursing Directors, Department Directors, Administrators and other health care team members; External customers may include local, state, and national pharmacy organizations, Joint Commission, state Board of Pharmacy, colleagues and peers, educational institutions and pharmaceutical representatives
