What You'll Do.
Verifies inpatient prescriber orders
Dispenses ordered medications
Compounding IVs and sterile products
Delivers timely preparation and distribution
Provides drug information
Clinical patient review for safety and accuracy
Supervises technicians and interns
Provides support on patient codes
Provides support on emergency room traumas
Dispenses inpatient medications pursuant to prescriber orders
Determines appropriateness of medication orders
Contacts prescribing practitioner with concerns
Reviews all possible adverse drug events
Considers patient allergies
Assures timely and accurate delivery
Helps operationalize recommendations
Provides information on medication administration
Provides information on medication dosing
Provides information on medication selection
Documents direct patient care
Documents clinical outcomes
Documents operational outcomes
Documents financial outcomes
Maintains prior to admission medication list
Communicates discharge medication needs
Provides in-service training
Precepts pharmacy residents
Precepts pharmacy students
