**Job Description Summary** Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation. Prepares and administers radioactive chemical compounds known as radiopharmaceuticals. Knowledgeable in IV placement to avoid extravasations of radiopharmaceuticals. Performs computer processing and image enhancement. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Provides excellent patient care. Should have acquired skills from CAHEA approved program and preferably, one or two years’ experience in a similar position. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training. **Additional Job Description** Education: Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program required.
