Must Have
High School Diploma or GED, Two (2) years of work experience in government, construction, architecture, administrative/clerical, customer service or planning experience to include mapping, databases or related computer applications or related field, Possession of a valid New Mexico driver’s license by the date of hire and maintenance of a valid license while employed in this position
What You'll Do.
Provides administrative and technical service to the reviews Zoning
and Planning applications for completeness prior to assigning permit or case
Assigns permit or case
Issues business licenses
Processes trade permits
Schedules inspections as needed
Collects fees and issue receipts
Operates KIVA database
Assists general public with all questions and activities relevant to the intake of applications
Prepares and compiles reports related to department tracking and database systems
Adds or removes flags/holds as necessary
Reviews construction documents for completeness prior to assigning a building permit
Calculates and collects permit and impact fees
Provides information as requested with regards to department records
and calendar of events
Coordinates the circulation of commercial plans between Zoning
and Mechanical/Plumbing sections
Respond to administrative and some technical questions from the public on applying for a permit and issuing a building permit
Issues permits following plan approval
Retrieves and researches material from manual and/or automated files
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Coordinates with staff and other County departments as necessary to ensure proper submittal of applications; Coordinates the circulation of commercial plans between Zoning, Building, Electrical, and Mechanical/Plumbing sections; Work may be done alone or with co-workers with general directions from the supervisor
