What You'll Do.
Perform administrative functions for OR scheduling system
Serve as main point of contact for schedule
Manage surgery date changes
Respond to urgent/emergent situations using critical thinking
Create and update master OR schedule in Epic
Create and update electronic patient records
Perform unit specific activities for effective operation
Perform cross-functional responsibilities as assigned
Receive calls for emergency/transplant surgeries
Coordinate with units and departments for patient processing
Assign case numbers accurately
Review OR room availability and book appropriate room
Cancel scheduled procedures for priority cases
Notify professionals to assemble surgical team
Notify OR Team Lead for live donor/transplant surgeries
Order required case cart and other items
Act as verifier for shipped living donor kidneys
Obtain OR scheduling information from services
Enter information into Epic Optime
Determine case order based on procedures and time
Schedule patients according to policy
Schedule cases using Snapboard and Case Entry
Post add-on and emergency cases to system
Review cases as rooms become available
Coordinate cases to maximize OR efficiency
Enter and update procedure data
and distribute schedules
Collaborate with managers on schedule adjustments
Communicate schedule changes to surgeons' offices
Understand patient circumstances and requirements
Interpret information from Preadmission Clinic
Insert patient information into OR schedule
Monitor tentative schedules

Hours: As Required Shifts : Rotating Shifts, Days/Evenings/Nights/Weekends/Statutory Holydays Status: Casual Closing Date: June 11, 2026 Position Summary: The Perioperative Flow Coordinator performs detailed administrative functions required to maintain the automated OR scheduling system according to established surgery scheduling protocols, and, is the main point of contact for all schedule requests, (both scheduled and emergent), surgery date changes, cancellations, surgical add-ons, and all general inquiries related to the OR Schedule. Emergency surgeries include transplant, inpatient and external surgical cases (ex. Critical, ORNGE, etc). This role helps ensure optimal care delivery and coordination of surgical patients to ensure efficient, timely surgical care and optimal utilization of TG
