Must Have
Valid driver's license, CPR/First Aid Certification, Colorado driver's license, Demonstrates clear understanding of confidentiality protocols, Adheres to privacy laws/organizational policies, Recognizes professional boundaries, Identifies potential conflicts of interests, Maintains ethical standards, Establishes trust and rapport with individuals, Actively advocates for needs & rights of individuals/families, Ensures access to necessary services, resources, and support systems, Demonstrates awareness and continuously seeks to learn & apply inclusive language, Collaborates cross-departmentally with other Coalition Peer Specialists
Nice to Have
Completion of accredited Peer Specialist training program, Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or ASL, Prior peer mentoring experience, Prior and/or ongoing recovery activity
What You'll Do.
Provide mentorship and support to clients
Build skills in goal setting & problem solving
Facilitate counseling and activities for clients
Promote connection and agency
Help clients coordinate & navigate critical integrated services
Partner with internal teams & outside community partners
Transport and/or escort clients to scheduled appointments
Foster trusting relationships with clients
Ensure services provided are timely
Align services to individual goals
Conduct ongoing client outreach within the community
Monitor needs that are recovery-oriented
Ensure timely & accurate recording of services
Record communications and tasks in EHR
Maintain complete up-to-date charts

## Description This position will be posted for a minimum of 5 days The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves. Our Philosophy of Service: We believe all people have the right to adequate housing and health care. We work to remove the barriers that restrict access to these rights. Society benefits when adequate housing and health care are available to everyone. Through lived experience that includes recovery from substance use, homelessness, and/or effective treatment of mental health conditions, the Peer Specialist offers insight & first-hand knowledge to support clients, families, and their integrated teams. You will work to support clients with various challenges to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals by focusing on strengths, empowerment, and advocacy.
