What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years of payroll experience, knowledge of Canadian and US payroll legislation and regulations, Experience working with a payroll service provider (e. g. , ADP, Ceridian, or Paylocity), High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, confidentiality in handling both personal and time sensitive information pertaining to payroll and benefits, Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse workloads, Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiarity with accounting systems, security clearance from the Government of Canada, legally authorized to work in Canada, successfully obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance
Nice to Have
preferably in a multi-entity, cross-border environment, Canadian or US professional payroll designations are an asset, Bilingualism is an asset
What You'll Do.
Process semi-month or bi-weekly payrolls
Ensure compliance with legislation
Administer payroll for multiple entities
Manage payroll integrations
Ensure compliance with labor laws
Perform payroll reconciliations and audits
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings
Monitor updates to tax laws
Address and resolve payroll inquiries
Educate employees on payroll processes
Maintain payroll systems and databases
Collaborate with IT and HR teams
Assist in audits related to payroll
Identify inefficiencies in payroll processes
Implement improvements to enhance accuracy
Develop and document payroll procedures
