Full Job Description
Your job is more than a job. This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this department. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary. **_GENERAL DUTIES_** Responsible for maintaining patient safety at all times while in the company of the patient: * Safely and professionally transports patient without incident to units, testing areas, and area on campus. * Remains with discharged patients until their ride arrives for pick-up. Transports patients to the discharge center during the hours of operations. * Lifts the bed rails up and places the nurse call button near the patient after placing the patient back in bed. * Utilizes proper body mechanics when lifting, pulling or pushing patients to avoid injury or damage to the patients. * Keeps patients informed and gives periodic updates, as appropriate. * Within the scope of position, positively contributes to organizational goal of patient throughput. * Delivers medical items to the nursing units at the request of the House Supervisor such as pumps, I.V poles or special beds in a timely manner. * Escorts visitors, patients, or other staff members to other appropriate areas of the hospital. Financial Stability: * Advises supervisor of current or anticipated problems. Effectively uses time and resources to accomplish their duties. * Resolves conflicting matters and schedules with peers and other staff. * Willingly accepts assignments and completes in a timely fashion. * Appropriately uses time and attendance system and adheres to related policies and procedures. * Be aware of possible compliance issues, specifically concerning fraud and abuse. Reports those issues immediately. Performance Improvement: * Actively promotes and support LCMC's performance improvement initiatives (i.e., participates in ongoing education,
