This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary. **_GENERAL DUTIES_** Responsible for maintaining patient safety at all times while in the company of the patient: * Safely and professionally transports patient without incident to units, testing areas, and area on campus. * Remains with discharged patients until their ride arrives for pick-up. Transports patients to the discharge center during the hours of operations. * Lifts the bed rails up and places the nurse call button near the patient after placing the patient back in bed. * Utilizes proper body mechanics when lifting, pulling or pushing patients to avoid injury or damage to the patients. * Keeps patients informed and gives periodic updates, as appropriate. * Within the scope of position, positively contributes to organizational goal of patient throughput. * Delivers medical items to the nursing units at the request of the House Supervisor such as pumps, I.V poles or special beds in a timely manner. * Escorts visitors, patients, or other staff members to other appropriate areas of the hospital. Financial Stability: * Advises supervisor of current or anticipated problems. Effectively uses time and resources to accomplish their duties. * Resolves conflicting matters and schedules with peers and other staff. * Willingly accepts assignments and completes in a timely fashion. * Appropriately uses time and attendance system and adheres to related policies and procedures. * Be aware of possible compliance issues, specifically concerning fraud and abuse. Reports those issues immediately. Performance Improvement: * Actively promotes and support LCMC's performance improvement initiatives (i.e., participates in ongoing education,
