Must Have
At least 1 year of related customer facing experience
Nice to Have
Demonstrated understanding of basic medical terminology, Call center, patient scheduling and/or physician front-office experience
What You'll Do.
Register all patients needing services
Handle all first call resolution for the departments assigned
Obtain accurate and complete demographic
and medical information
Transfer calls as appropriate
Make appointments as necessary
Pre-register patients for procedures
Assist with making referrals
Anticipate and act on the needs of customers to enhance the patient experience
Engage patients throughout the registration process
Display good customer service behaviors
Assist patients to their destination as needed
Manage patient visitor flow
Enter required information for registration into the electronic health system
Follow prescribed procedures for positive identification and medical record number assignment
Review demographic and insurance information for completeness
Correct deficiencies in demographic and insurance information
Obtain appropriate signatures and complete forms
Provide information and/or handouts and answer questions on patient rights and responsibilities
and any financial assistance documentation
Document insurance verification information in the system
and policy limitations
authorization and pre-certification information
Answer all inbound and/or place outbound telephone calls
Direct callers appropriately
Handle all calls efficiently and in a timely manner
Exhibit the highest level of service to all callers and fellow staff
Contact patients by phone to remind them of upcoming appointments
Relay instructions to patients
Ask follow-up care questions
Cancel and reschedule appointments
Identify and initiate necessary referrals for specialist appointments
expedite and follow-up on any paperwork related to patient care
Schedule various types of appointments for providers
Communicate necessary instructions to the patient
Perform various administrative support duties for department/work location
sort and distribute all types of mail and correspondence
