Position Overview The Patient Scheduling Coordinator plays a critical role in coordinating patient appointments, ensuring accuracy in registration, and assisting with insurance verification and referral processes. This role demands exceptional communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and representatives in a professional and welcoming manner Verify and update demographic and insurance information Schedule office visits, lab work, radiology tests, and internal referrals Respond to phone calls and emails related to appointment scheduling Send out appointment reminders or rescheduling letters Assist patients with various requests and resolve scheduling issues Collaborate with care support and maintain referral documentation Support administrative functions and provide coverage for peers when needed Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a patient-first approach Participate in training and orientation of new staff as assigned Attend staff meetings and maintain timely communication with leadership Qualifications Education & Experience Required: High school diploma or GED Six months of related experience and/or training in healthcare or a similar administrative role Preferred: Experience in insurance verification and referral processing Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational, follow-up, and multitasking abilities Proficiency in computer systems and scheduling software Ability to prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving skills and sound judgment under minimal sup
