What You'll Do.
Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy
Operate hemodialysis machines
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Support Quality Enhancement Program
Participate in process improvement activities
Provide patient specific education
Welcome assigned patients
Inquire about patient wellbeing
Evaluate vascular access for patency
Perform vascular access cannulation
Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs
Obtain pre and post treatment weight
Perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment
Initiate dialysis treatment
Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy
Obtain vital signs prior to discontinuation
Perform relevant functions for discontinuation
Document vital signs and weight
Discontinue dialysis treatment
Evaluate patient prior to discharge
Perform and record pre and post dialysis evaluation
Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming
Ensure appropriate safety alarms are enabled
Record accurate treatment information
Document information related to patient treatment
Report significant information to registered nurse
Report change in patient condition
Conduct machine safety checks
Report change or unusual findings
Perform and document intervention for unusual patient status
Document patients' response to intervention
Evaluate patients’ vascular access during treatment
Provide appropriate intervention as needed
Document and report unusual findings
Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing
Prepare specimens for collection
Clean blood spills immediately
and utilize supplies and equipment
Monitor patients performing self-care
Assist in training of direct patient care staff
Follow organization business policies
Follow organization procedures
Follow organization systems
Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics
Ensure all areas are safe and clean
Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface
Clean and disinfect dialysis chair
Clean and disinfect equipment
Clean and disinfect surrounding area
Conduct all tasks for preparation for dialysis treatment
Perform all required pre-treatment dialysis machine alarm testing
Initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system
Complete and document ongoing participation in CQI activities
Enter all treatment data into clinical application
Review treatment sheets for completeness
Ensure nursing signatures are documented
Ensure omitted entries are completed or corrected
Prepare initial patient chart for admission
Compile paperwork for appropriate placement in chart
Prepare/print lab requisitions
