What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School diploma or equivalent, Valid PCT national certification, State specific certification, All appropriate state licensure, Attendance and active participation in preceptor training, Successful completion of CPR certification
Nice to Have
At least five years patient care experience, Experience in a hospital setting, Experience in a related facility
What You'll Do.
Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy
Operate hemodialysis machines
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Welcome assigned patients
Evaluate vascular access for patency
Perform vascular access cannulation
Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs
Perform vascular access evaluation pre-treatment
Initiate dialysis treatment
Evaluate intradialytic problems
Provide intervention as prescribed
Monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy
Obtain vital signs prior to discontinuation
Discontinue dialysis treatment
Evaluate patient prior to discharge
Perform and record pre and post dialysis evaluation
Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming
Ensure appropriate safety alarms are enabled
Record vital signs and treatment parameters
Document patient treatment information
Report significant information to registered nurse
Conduct machine safety checks
Report change or unusual findings
Perform and document intervention for unusual patient status
Document patients' response to intervention
Evaluate patients’ vascular access during treatment
Monitor arterial and venous pressures
Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing
Prepare specimens for collection
Monitor patients performing self-care
Assist patients in performing self-care
Participate in recruitment process
Assist with clinical orientation
Assist with on-going training
Function as a preceptor
Deliver and maintain competency evaluations
Conduct competency audits
Collaborate with Clinical Manager
Collaborate with Education Coordinator
Assist in training of direct patient care staff
Provide developmental support
Educate personnel regarding water systems integrity
Educate personnel regarding environmental integrity
Ensure communication process between staff
Participate in implementing educational programs
Design creative educational programs
