Industry & Context.
Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention; Evaluate patients’ vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed
Travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community, Travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings may be required, May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials, Regularly involves heavy lifting and moving of patients and assisting with ambulation, Frequent, prolonged periods of standing, Bend over, Push and/or pull equipment, exerting up to 15 pounds of force, Lift and to lower solutions up to 30 lbs, Occasional lift up to 40 lbs, as high as 5 feet, Take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School diploma or G. E. D., Meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements, All appropriate state licensure, education, and training, Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards, Successful completion of the organization dialysis training program, Successful completion of CPR certification
Nice to Have
Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility
What You'll Do.
Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy
Operate hemodialysis machines
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Participate in process improvement activities
Provide patient specific education
Evaluate vascular access
Initiate dialysis treatment
Monitor patients during dialysis
Discontinue dialysis treatment
Obtain Hemostasis and apply dressings
Record and document treatment parameters
Report changes in patient condition
Perform machine safety checks
Obtain and prepare laboratory specimens
Clean spills and disinfect equipment
Assist in training direct patient care staff
Maintain environmental integrity
Complete and document CQI activities
Enter treatment data into clinical application
Prepare patient charts and paperwork
Collect and prepare lab samples
Assist in collecting infection control information
Support infection control practices
Reinforce infection control education
Follow newly admitted patients through first 4 weeks
Coordinate transitional dialysis care
Liaise with FKC staff for patient experience
Assure patient understanding of home dialysis products
Set and perform treatments on TCU machines
Assure patient understanding of treatment options
Coordinate transition to patient’s modality choice
Assist with supply ordering and inventory
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Assist other health care members in providing patient education; Report significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the registered nurse or supervisor; Report any change or unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor; Liaisons with appropriate FKC staff members to provide the best patient experience
