Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements, Employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test, Day to day work includes desk and personal computer work, Interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians, Travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community, Travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings may be required, The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility, May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials, Regularly involves heavy lifting and moving of patients, Assisting with ambulation, Frequent, prolonged periods of standing, Employee must be able to bend over, Occasionally required to push and/or pull equipment, exerting up to 15 pounds of force, Required to lift and to lower solutions on a frequent basis of up to 30 lbs., On an occasional lift basis up to 40 lbs., As high as 5 feet, Two-person assist program and 'material assist' devices for heavier items

Must Have

High School diploma or G. E. D., Meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements, All appropriate state licensure, education, and training, Successful completion of CPR certification

What You'll Do.

Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy

Setup and operation of hemodialysis machines

Assist in maintenance of safe and clean environment

Welcome assigned patients

Evaluate vascular access for patency

Perform vascular access cannulation

Administer heparin as delegated

Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs

Initiate dialysis treatment

Evaluate intradialytic problems

Monitor patients’ response to dialysis

Discontinue dialysis treatment

Obtain Hemostasis and apply dressings

Evaluate patient prior to discharge

Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming

Ensure appropriate safety alarms are enabled

Record vital signs and treatment parameters

Document patient treatment information

Report significant information to registered nurse

Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks

Perform and document intervention for unusual status

Evaluate patients’ vascular access during treatment

Obtain prescribed laboratory testing

Prepare specimens for collection

Monitor patients performing self-care

Assist in training of direct patient care staff

Maintain environmental integrity

Clean and disinfect dialysis machine

Conduct pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing

Initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system

Complete and document CQI activities

Enter treatment data into clinical application

Review treatment sheets for completeness

Prepare initial patient chart for admission

Prepare/print lab requisitions

prepare and store lab samples

Ensure collection of lab specimens

Assist in collecting infection control audit information

Support staff and patient adherence to infection control

Follow infection control Policies and Procedures

Reinforce infection control education

Follow all transitional care unit policies

Reinforce education and care for new patients

Liaise with appropriate FKC staff

Assure patient understanding of home dialysis products

Set and perform treatment on transitional care unit machines

Assure patient understanding of treatment options

Assist with coordination of transition to modality choice

Assist with supply ordering and inventory for TCU
